Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh cemented their legacies as the Queens of Beach Volleyball by winning their 3rd straight gold medal in the first ever all-American finals.
The veterans took on April Ross and Jennifer Kessy, who were coming off an impressive comeback win over the number 1 ranked Brazilian duo, Juliana and Larissa. But Walsh and May proved to be too much for them, winning the game in straight sets and ending their careers on a golden note.
When Walsh and May decided to come out of retirement and defend their title, there were some questions on whether or not they would be as dominant as they were in Beijing and Athens. After winning 42 of their 43 sets in London, I would say the questions have been answered.
