This picture best sums up last night’s fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Marquez. This photo showcases both sides of the boxing spectrum, in the left corner you have the feeling of victory, and in the right corner you have the agony of defeat. Not only did this picture provide the best photo of the night, but it also caused quite a stir on twitter.
Many users of the popular social networking site began to crack jokes at Pacquiao’s expense. While getting knocked is no fun, some of the jokes that were created from it were pretty amusing. One twitter user said “I’m tired i hope i sleep like Pacquiao tonight”, while another said “I fell asleep and missed the dam fight last nite…its cool doe…i heard Pacquiao did too”. Even rapper Meek Mill chimed in with some of his own photoshopped pictures at Manny’s expense.
The jokes may seem harsh, but when you’re a professional athlete in today’s society you must welcome the praise and the ridicule of being in the spotlight. In basketball, players will get harassed for days by their own teammates if they get dunked on, and in football teammates will often make fun of a player who got laid out after making sure he’s okay. It’s just apart of the sports culture, but whether it’s right is another topic. Those photos are racist. The people doing this and participating in this are also racist. The media and others would never do this to a black or muslim boxer. Asians are people too, and deserve as much respect as any other people.

He is still one of the greatest boxers of all time. What he has accomplished is impressive.
The people who made these photos can laugh as Pacquiao collects a check for $23 million+. I would let anyone knock me down for that kind of money.
