Chris Paul still irked about Pau Gasol patting him on the head

by

Chris Paul is featured on the October front cover of GQ MagazineCP3 would be interviewed and revealed some hard feelings he still has towards a certain Los Angeles Lakers player.  This would stem from the Los Angeles showdown between the Clippers and the Lakers back in January of 2012.

Towards the end of the game, Lakers forward Pau Gasol would end up tapping Chris Paul on the head in an overly friendly manner.  CP3 did not appreciate that gesture and got in Gasol’s ear about the tap on the head.  Kobe Bryant would later get in the middle of the two to stop the childish bickering.  A good eight months later, Chris Paul reveals that he is still annoyed by Pau Gasol’s head tap.  CP3 said,

We call that sonnin’.  Like when I take Li’l Chris to the bathroom, I’ll walk with my hand on his head.  That’s my son.  You know what I mean?  I understand that Gasol is that tall, but don’t do to me what I do to my son.

Perhaps Chris Paul is still bitter that he ended up on the Clippers instead of the Lakers.  As we all know, Chris Paul was a Laker very briefly before the heavy hand of the NBA prevented that.  Had Pau Gasol and Chris Paul been teammates, that “sonnin’” action would have been frequent after all the lobs CP3 could have been throwing up for the Spaniard.
